Honeymoon – Snippets {Part II}

*We took a day trip to Victoria, B.C. On the ferry over, the captain stopped the boat so we could watch a humpback whale that was swimming near us.** Another thing crossed off my bucket list.

Look closely - that's a whale!

*Instead of having high tea at The Empress Hotel, we went down the street and had a huge lunch and a couple of beers. The Empress sure was pretty, though.

*Before catching the ferry back after our day in Victoria, we found a shady patch of grass and took a snooze.

*Dinner at the Dockside Grill on Sequim Bay. One of the best dinners I have ever had. Giant chunks of Dungeness crab in every dish. And this view…

*We slept almost every night with the windows open. Sequim summer is like Missouri fall with more sunshine and better air.

*Every night we watched at least one episode of Planet Earth on DVD. Yes, we are such dorks we watch nature documentaries on romantic getaways. What of it?

What an incredible trip. We decided we are definitely west coast people, and we can’t wait to move to the Pacific Northwest someday. We also decided that we both very much enjoy being married.

**Marine mammals love to congratulate us. The night we got engaged, one of the dolphins in the lagoon at our hotel randomly jumped out of the water and did a flip right next to us. No one else saw it.
